Dental Care Services for Pets

Taking care of your pet’s teeth is no easy task. At Green Lane Animal Hospital, we’re glad to provide resources and medical support when necessary. Not only can we care for your pet’s dental health, we can share advice on how you can better tend to their oral hygiene at home. To learn more about our dental services, contact us at 905.597.7373.

What dental services do you provide?

Our dental services include teeth cleaning and polishing, dental X-rays, tooth extractions and minor oral surgery. We also provide resources, such as dental home care kits and water additives, which is a preventative medicine that blocks plaque, tartar and oral bacteria from developing. These tools help owners care for their pet’s teeth and gums between dental appointments.

Is it necessary for me to bring my pet in for dental appointments?

Yes. While we do encourage pet owners to care for their furry friend’s teeth, routine dental appointments allow us to monitor your pet’s overall dental health. Our veterinarians can spot the early signs of dental diseases, like gingivitis, before they create long-term damage. We also use dental X-rays to inspect the health of their gums and search for invisible illnesses. Check out our Facebook page to see the positive impact of our dental care.

How do I protect my pet’s teeth from damage?

One of the most important ways you can ensure your pet’s teeth stay in good shape is by regularly brushing them. We know it can be difficult sometimes, but we’d be happy to show you some tricks. Other ways you can care for your pet’s oral health is by giving them appropriate chew toys. Bully sticks are delicious, digestive and can help clean your pet’s teeth. When choosing a chew toy, look for the “VOHC” seal to confirm that it’s been approved by the Veterinary Oral Health Council as a safe and effective toy. These items can help reduce the formation of plaque and tartar on your pet’s teeth.
