Urgent Pet Care

Same-day urgent care in Thornhill for minor pet emergencies. Not a full ER. Call 905-597-7373.

Need a same-day vet appointment for a minor pet emergency in Thornhill? Green Lane Animal Hospital offers urgent care during our extended hours so your pet can be seen promptly for non-life-threatening concerns.

Our team provides timely attention for sudden issues that cannot wait for a routine appointment but do not require a full-service emergency hospital. We serve pets from Thornhill, Richmond Hill, Vaughan, North York, and surrounding areas.

Not sure if your pet needs urgent care? Call us. Our team will help you decide the best next step.

Conditions We Commonly Treat in Urgent Care

We can help with concerns such as:

  • Gastrointestinal Issues: Mild to moderate vomiting, diarrhea, or sudden changes in appetite.
  • Lacerations, Minor Trauma & Wounds: Shallow cuts, punctures, bite wounds, torn nails, or localized swelling.
  • Limping & Musculoskeletal Pain: Sudden lameness, limping, minor strains, or signs of back discomfort.
  • Urinary & Reproductive Signs: Straining to urinate, bloody urine, or symptoms resembling a urinary tract infection (UTI).
  • Note: A complete inability to pass urine is a life-threatening emergency, especially in male cats. Please seek immediate 24-hour emergency care.
  • Eye & Ear Discomfort: Squinting, eye discharge, redness, or aggressive scratching and shaking of the head due to ear infections.
  • Allergic Reactions: Sudden hives, swelling around the face, or bug bites and stings that cause acute itchiness or minor swelling.
  • Skin Flare-ups: Hot spots, severe rashes, or sudden skin infections causing noticeable distress.
  • Other sudden, non-life-threatening illnesses.

Important: We Are Not a Full-Service Emergency Hospital

Our urgent care service is designed for minor and moderate issues that need same-day attention. It is not a full-service emergency/ER facility.

For life-threatening emergencies (difficulty breathing, collapse, severe trauma, uncontrolled bleeding, seizures, inability to urinate—especially in male cats—or any situation where your pet is in critical distress), please contact a 24-hour emergency veterinary hospital right away:
